Cleaning up after painting

After all, work has been completed and allowed to dry, a few minutes cleaning up will make a lot of difference.

Removal of masking tape

Remove any masking tape you have left. This should be peeled back on itself at a slight angle away from the edge. Take it slowly – ripping off tape will cause damage.

Cleaning the windows

Clean the windows. Wipe them with a damp sponge or rag and use a bladed window scraper to remove any spots of paint from the glass or to trim the edges. Use leather to polish the glass.

Fixtures fittings and equipment

Clean up the fixtures and fittings which were not removed.

Replace those which were removed.

Clear away all equipment (left clean for next time!)

Finally, fold the dust sheets in on themselves before removing them to be shaken off outside.
